A nest is a fine mesh inner tent with a zippered door and a waterproof bathtub floor. All of our shelters have nests that will fit in them.

Nests provide protection from crawling or flying insects, and from dirt, mud, or other creepy-crawlies getting into your sleep gear.

Our purpose here is to compare and contrast the uses and specs of the different nests.

LBO Nest (2 Person)

Dimensions: 90" Long, 52" Wide, 50" Tall

Weight 25 ounces.

Our smallest multi-shelter nest, this two person nest is a snug fit for two. Perfect for a solo trip or to share with a significant other, but less perfect for two hunting buddies.

There are several ways to set this nest up.  In a Cimarron or Redcliff, you can tie cordage to the stake loops and tension the bottom using the supplied linelocs.  

In a larger shelter you can use our  Small Titanium Tent Stakes to peg down the bottom corners of the nest.  You can also do this in a LBO, Cimarron, or Redcliff and use our Shelter Gatekeeper Straps or a LineLoc Extension Kit to raise the canopy and allow for a breeze in warm weather.

This nest allows for stove use.

Cimarron / Redcliff Half Nest

Dimensions: 99” Long, 55” Wide, 52” Tall

Weight: 26.5 oz

This nest is comfortable for two. More room for a couple than the LBO Nest, and perfect for two friends. Provides a lot of room for solo use.

There are several ways to set this nest up. In an LBO, you can tie cordage to the stake loops and tension the bottom using the supplied linelocs.

In a larger shelter you can use our Small Titanium Tent Stakes to peg down the bottom corners of the nest. You can also do this in an LBO and use our Shelter Gatekeeper Straps or a LineLoc Extension Kit to raise the canopy and allow for a breeze in warm weather.

6 Person Half Nest

Dimensions: 7’ tall, 13’ long

Weight: 42 oz

The 6 Person Half Nest is semicircular in shape and covers half of the 6 Person Tipi. 

These large nests are popular with family camps as they allow full bug protection and the ease of a mud room of sorts on the uncovered side, a huge plus in wet or muddy conditions.

The nest ties into the perimeter stake loops, or you can stake the nest independently with our  Small Titanium Tent Stakes.

  • 6 Person Tipi

Does Not Fit:

  • The 6 Half Nest will fit inside the 6 through 24 Person Tipis, but you will lose space around the perimeter of the nest in a larger tipi, so a Cimarron / Redcliff Half Nest may be a better option to cover sleeping areas for two people in the larger shelters.

8 Person Half Nest

Dimensions: 7’ 8” tall, 15’ long

Weight: 48 oz

The 8 Person Half Nest is semicircular in shape and covers half of the 8 Person Tipi.

  • The 8 Half Nest will fit inside the 8 through 24 Person Tipis, but you will lose space around the perimeter of the nest in a larger tipi, so a Cimarron / Redcliff Half Nest may be a better option to cover sleeping areas for two people in the larger shelters.

Silvertip Full Nest

Weight 35 ounces.

Turn your Silvertip into a double wall tent. This nest provides full bug protection and a waterproof bathtub floor. Can be installed and left installed, so you can pitch the nest and canopy at the same time.

There are multiple ways to use this nest. Tie it to the shelter stake loops and use the canopy sod skirt to seal out drafts, or raise the canopy with our Shelter Gatekeeper Straps or a LineLoc Extension Kit and stake the nest separately with our Small Titanium Tent Stakes to create a ton of draft during warm weather - ventilation without bugs!

This nest DOES NOT allow for stove use.

  • Silvertip

Does Not Fit:

  • Everything else

Cimarron Full Nest

Weight 46 ounces.

Turn your Cimarron into a double wall tent. This nest provides full bug protection and a waterproof bathtub floor. Can be installed and left installed, so you can pitch the nest and canopy at the same time.

There are multiple ways to use this nest. Tie it to the shelter stake loops and use the canopy sod skirt to seal out drafts, or raise the canopy with our Shelter Gatekeeper Straps or a LineLoc Extension Kit and stake the nest separately with our Small Titanium Tent Stakes to create a ton of draft during warm weather - ventilation without bugs!

This nest DOES NOT allow for stove use.

Fits:

  • Cimarron
  • Will fit Redcliff, but reduces usable space around the perimeter of the shelter.  Sleeps four.

Does Not Fit:

  • Everything else
