    SEAM SEALING:

The DST includes 1 tube of SilNet seam sealer, enough to seal the entire shelter.

    • Pitch normally and seal the outside seams.
    • The easy way to seal is to run a thin bead of sealant along the seam, then press it in with a finger, wiping the excess on a paper towel.
    • Alternatively, you can use an acid brush from a hardware store to spread the sealant.

    Set Up:

How does your SilNylon compare to standard silpoly tarps?

Our 30D Nylon 6.6 Ripstop offers significant advantages over silpoly for serious outdoor use. While silpoly is slightly lighter, our fabric is 40% stronger and significantly more tear-resistant. Both materials provide 3000mm waterproof protection, but our Nylon 6.6 construction delivers superior durability against abrasion from branches, rocks, and rough handling.

Can I use this in winter conditions?

Yes, when pitched at a steep angle to shed snow. While not a four-season shelter by itself, it pairs perfectly with a winter bivy for cold-weather protection.

What's the proper care for this tarp?

Always stuff loosely rather than folding to prevent creases. Store dry to prevent mildew, and clean only with mild soap and water to preserve the silicone coating.

Does it work with hammocks or bivies?

Yes. The multiple tie-outs adapt perfectly as a hammock rain fly or bivy cover

Will this tarp withstand strong winds?

Yes, when properly anchored using the 16 tie-outs. The silicone-coated fabric maintains tension without excessive flapping, and the reinforced construction handles gusts better than standard tarps.  Angling the tarp to deflect wind rather than catch it improves stability

Why choose this over an ultralight tent?

The DST Tarp is ideal for hunters and backpackers who prioritize stealth, versatility, and weight savings. Unlike tents, it operates silently with no zippers or noisy fabrics to spook game. The multiple pitching options adapt to any situation. The low-profile design also helps you stay hidden in the field.

How do I set up the DST Tarp for glassing or a hunting hide?

The DST Tarp's 16 reinforced tie-outs and trekking pole compatibility make it incredibly versatile for hunting setups. For glassing, pitch it in a low A-frame configuration to block wind while keeping you concealed. A quick lean-to style provides shade during midday rests by using just 2-3 tie-outs on one side. The reinforced center cone allows for a stable, elevated shelter when paired with a trekking pole—just remember to face openings downwind to mask scent and movement.
