PITCHING:
- Unpack the tent and lay it flat on the ground with the zipper door facing up.
- Locate the zipper door—this is your starting point.
- Find the first seam to the right of the zipper and stake it down firmly.
- Moving to the right, skip one seam and stake the next seam tightly to create a straight line.
- Go back to the zipper and find the first seam to the left. Stake this seam with a 3-4 inch setback (pull the stake away from the tent slightly before staking).
- Moving to the left, skip one seam and stake the next seam with a 3-4 inch setback. This should form a rectangle shape.
- Adjust your trekking pole or carbon pole to 135cm in height.
- Open the zipper door and insert the pole into the cone-shaped attachment point inside the tent, then close the zipper door.
- Stake the zipper door tight to the ground.
- Stake the back seam (opposite the zipper) tight to the ground.
- If the tent feels loose, adjust the height of the pole or the length of the cordage for a tighter fit.
- Use additional stake points and guy-out points (if available) for extra stability in windy or harsh weather.
SEAM SEALING:
For best results we recommend seam-sealing your tent. You can do it at home or have us do it for you- To seal the shelter, pitch it normally and seal the outside seams.
- You can run a thin bead of sealant along the seam, press it in with a finger, and wipe away excess on a paper towel.
- Alternatively, you can use an acid brush from a hardware store to spread the sealant.
