Bookcliff 8p XL
OVERVIEW:
Bookcliff 8p XL Shelter
The all-new Bookcliff 8p is Seek Outside’s answer to group shelters that demand real backcountry performance without sacrificing comfort. Designed for expeditions, base camps, outfitters, and families who don’t travel light on ambition, the Bookcliff 8p delivers massive livable space in a shelter that’s still very efficient to pack and pitch.
With room for up to eight people or up to 6 with a stove the Bookcliff offers exceptional strength in wind, rain, and snow. Steep walls shed weather fast, while the tall dual center poles creates a wide-open interior that feels more like a cabin than a tent.
The Bookcliff has many ground breaking features such as its vertical rear walls which give mass amounts of space without compromising on foot print size. With its integrated awning system you can quickly run the shelter in two different configurations, and its massive rear ventilation system allows for tons of air flow, especially when paired with its two other peak vents. The steep and rounded ends of the shelters make it stand strong in winds, rain, and snow.
Premium materials and meticulous construction ensure long-term durability in harsh conditions, whether you’re riding out a mountain storm, running a multi-day hunt camp, or setting up a remote basecamp miles from the trailhead. Multiple entry points and generous ventilation options help manage condensation and keep the shelter comfortable across seasons.
From late-season hunts to extended family adventures, the Bookcliff 8p is built for people who need real space, real protection, and real reliability—no compromises.

SEAM SEALING:
- To seal the shelter, pitch it normally and seal the outside seams. Note: this is difficult on taller tents
- You can run a thin bead of sealant along the seam, press it in with a finger, and wipe away excess on a paper towel.
- Alternatively, you can use an acid brush from a hardware store to spread the sealant.
INFO ON HOT TENTS:
Temperature Rating- We use high temp silicone coated fiberglass material, rated to several thousand degrees, for the stove jack. The tent material never touches the hot pipe. If there are any pinholes from floating embers, they can be sealed with a small dab of silicone without damaging the shelter.
- Condensation may occur in single-wall shelters, but can be managed with liners and stoves. For more information, check out our tips on managing condensation.
- Carbon monoxide is not a concern in these shelters due to the peak vent and air flow from the zipper and sod skirt. If necessary, leave a door unzipped for more venting
