How to Stake a Tent in Frozen Ground

Staking a tent in frozen ground can be a challenge. Usually, regular tent stakes won't work, or work very well at a minimum. The chances are, some will get bent or busted. In addition making anchors is not super feasible either. Usually, what is needed is a different tool. These options can work pretty well

  • Large Nails or Miner Nails
  • Concrete Screws
  • Burly Nail Style tent Stakes
  • Burly Tent Stakes

The effort required is much easier with nails, screws or nail shaped tent stakes. In addition removing tent stakes from frozen ground can be a challenge as well (especially if it is a burly normal style stake). Often the easiest way to remove them from frozen ground is by doubling down and pounding them in a bit more to loosen them.
